Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center, Warren, Michigan, three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
As innovation takes place across GM, there is an opportunity to amplify and accelerate our efforts by bringing teams, ideas, and learnings together while instilling rigor and expertise to an entrepreneurial culture.
We are hiring a Business Strategy Analyst to join the Enterprise Innovation team. In this role you will have the opportunity to act as key strategic partner to Product Managers to help them assess the viability of new products and develop go-to-market and commercialization strategies. You will work independently or within a small team to evaluate minimum viable products (MVPs) and/or business ideas, assist product teams in developing, validating, and bringing those ideas to market. Additionally, you will evaluate the macro-environment and competitive landscape to gather information and build financial models to help prove or disprove the expected value and viability of MVP concepts.

What You'll Do
- Work closely across the Enterprise Innovation teams to evaluate new product ideas and evaluate their viability MVP concepts through a commercialized lens
- Develop financial models to demonstrate expected investment, value generated, and NPVs
- Support market research and customer empathy interviews
- Investigate, document, and implement complex business models and processes
- Align cross-functional business and technical teams to help ensure alignment of goals and to help resolve conflicting priorities
- Analyze data in a timely manner with sound analytic methods
- Present findings to internal clients and address follow-up issues
- Support the identification of technology gaps based on industry trends, competitive strategies and market needs
- Prepare presentations for various levels of leadership
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree (entrepreneurship, finance, strategy-focused or a related field)
- 2+ years of strategy, product commercialization, or finance experience
- High degree of comfort working within an ambiguous environment, or a startup environment
- Experience in market research and competitive intelligence
- Proficiency in design thinking and agile / lean methodologies, specifically Lean Startup
- High degree of comfort communicating and negotiating with external companies
- Proven proficiency crafting and presenting stories
- Strong communication skills
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Masters degree
- Demonstrated skills in developing and evaluating MVPs that solve problems and taking those products to market
