The Role:
The Business Intelligence and Network Design team, part of General Motors Customer Care and Aftersales division, is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Data Warehouse Specialist who has a positive, solution-orientated attitude. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and improving our data infrastructure - enabling our team to make faster, smarter decisions that directly impact the customer experience. What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
- Own and maintain data warehouse operations, including large-scale, complex ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes across multiple systems.
- Clean, transform, organize, and optimize existing data sets for accuracy, consistency, and usability to enable high-quality reporting and analytics.
- Partner with team members across customer service and supply chain functions to understand data needs and develop easy-to-use data access solutions for ad-hoc study requests and reporting.
- Design and implement a lean, scalable data strategy focused on accessibility, clarity, and long-term sustainability.
- Communicate updates on new or refined data sets to multiple cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and understanding.
- Collaborate with IT partners and system owners to improve data integrations, resolve issues, and drive best practices in data management.
- Coordination of existing reporting tools and development of enhancements.
- Monitor and manage key performance indicators for North American.
- Maintain positive working relationships with cross functional stakeholders.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree required (Computer Science, Information Systems or related).
- Minimum of 2 years of IT experience - database mgt. or related.
- Strong technical skills and working experience in data warehousing, database pipelining, database management, and ETL development.
- Proven experience cleaning, transforming, and organizing large and complex data sets.
- Ability to balance technical depth with practical business application - making data approachable and useful for non-technical team members.
- Exercises independent judgment in managing complex and ambiguous tasks with minimal input from direct leader.
- Effective communicator with solid oral and written presentation skills.
- Understand / improve existing network data models and drive development of new ones as business needs arise.
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Python / SQL / Postgres / Java / Microsoft Access / Power BI

- Understanding of big data and how to analyze and create a story to solve a problem
