Description
Provide Construction Project Management/Project Engineer services for General Motors expansion in EU. Responsibilities include the completion of all work including site/civil, buildings, and utilities infrastructure for assigned projects from funding approval through stakeholder occupancy.
Basic Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Construction Management or Engineering Discipline
- (5-7 yrs) Experience with coordinating facilities design and construction activities
- (5-7 yrs) Experience with Construction Contracts including engineering drawings and specifications
- (5-7 yrs) Experience with Building codes and construction specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to travel within Europe

Key activities you'll be involved in;
- Building Effective Teams - Initiate and organize project teams consisting of multi-discipline members from engineering, safety, contractors and stakeholders.
- Dealing with Ambiguity: Can effectively cope with changing priorities and construction schedules, can decide and act without having the total picture, can handle multiple and concurrent diverse projects with minimal direct supervision, can coordinate activities with key stakeholders and other disciplines.
- Problem Solving - Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult schedule and construction problems with effective solutions; probes all fruitful sources for answers; can see hidden problems; is excellent at honest analysis; looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answers.
- Strategic Planning - Sees ahead clearly; can anticipate future issues related to construction schedules; has broad knowledge and perspective related to construction activities; is future oriented; can create and execute competitive and breakthrough concepts related to facility design and construction.
- Customer Satisfaction - Meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; gets first-hand customer information and uses it to schedule construction activities; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.
- Business Acumen - Knows how Project Management systems work; knowledgeable in current and possible future practices, trends, technology, and information affecting his/her projects and overall performance; knows the industry, is aware of how strategies and tactics work in Construction management.
- Functional/Technical Skills - Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment including financial management of Projects.
