Description
You will work on projects to raise the awareness and consideration of GM brands and EV products for GM Europe markets. You have a great understanding of the markets, are on top of cultural trends and media relationships in automotive/consumer and technology. You will communicate with journalists and other thought leaders; devise specific communications materials and campaigns based on understanding of what is of interest; engage in face-to-face meetings with commentators and other opinion formers; develop print and web-based material supporting these campaigns. Working with subject matter experts and business leaders you'll focus on storytelling around exciting new growth areas and partner announcements to maximize positive reputational impact. You'll also partner with marketing colleagues on an integrated go-to-market strategy.

This role will offer the opportunity to expand issues management skills and act as the media-facing company spokesperson on a variety of topic areas and business launches in Europe. You will report to the Head of Communications of GM Europe. You will work with agency resources, and you will keep the agency team on track with the overall strategy, giving them direction when it comes to specific product and business area decisions.
Responsibilities
- 3+ years of experience developing and executing communications campaigns for internal and external audiences
- Build and foster relationships with local automotive, consumer, technology and lifestyle media.
- Tap into cultural trends to build relevant content partnerships in Europe.
- Collaborate and coordinate with regional HQ on storytelling.
- Work in an integrated manner across functions to develop compelling written and visual content to be used across earned and owned media channels that will resonate in the market.
- Bring a competitive-minded approach to a fast-moving growth space within the industry.
- Develop executive visibility plans and manage speaking / interview engagements for key executives when in market.
- Support major company events and news moments including media announcements, conferences and trade shows as well as GM sponsored events.
