Hybrid This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Cole Engineering Center Tower, Warren MI three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business]
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Executes deliverables in support of the supply chain organization's business objectives. Guides of one of the key areas within the Global Supply Chain to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product and financial initiatives.
- Position communicates to all levels of the organization, within the function as well as other functions and suppliers Position is responsible for supporting relationship management with logistic suppliers and service providers
- Ability to understand and assess complex supply chain issues and lead teams in a cross functional environment to successfully resolve issues minimizing impacts to vehicle production
- Assess supplier schedules and impact on vehicle assembly production.
- Collaborate cross functionally to develop creative solutions.
- Ability to summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate to leadership
- Handle very complex capacity constraint issues to resolution with goal to eliminate potential plant disruptions and reduce premium transportation.
- Analyze metrics supporting supplier critical issues or sufficiency plan resolution.
- Ability to be flexible and at times work extended and non-core hours to ensure issues are worked to resolution.
- Ability to travel to plant locations when required for onsite support of launch and build-out.
- Ability to problem tackle complete issues and implement new and innovative strategies.
- Deep understanding of Supply Chain functions

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Monitor steal availability for stamping and GM Resale Program Suppliers:
- Monitor our resale shortage database for supply risks between mills and our resale suppliers.
- Support any material availability issues into our GM Allied Stamping plants.
- Participate with Factory Assist between GMNA Stamping plants.
- Establish relationships working with our Steel Mill Partners, 3rd Party Processors, Purchasing, Engineering, and our Stamping sites.
- Will be coordinating and leading calls with appropriate parties to resolve material shortage cases.
- Support Supply / Demand Planning and Scheduling
- Support Supply Chain Operations
- Support leadership escalations regarding supply chain risk including GPSC and senior leadership as needed.
This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 2+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development
- Excellent communication skills both verbal & written.
- Working knowledge of crisis management
- Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work in ambiguous situations.
- Ability to coordinate activities across multiple organizations within General Motors
- Project Management skills
- Highly proficient in using Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong problem-solving capability; strong analytical skills
- Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills
- Managerial courage: ability to stand alone.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Good understanding of Supply Chain functions
- Capable of managing and analyzing data stream / data analytics
- Diverse manufacturing/operations experiences
Education:
- Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, related field, or equivalent work experience
- Preferred:
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related advanced degree a plus
