Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Rochester, New York on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do:
- Strategic Planning : Collaborate to develop and execute the Site's long-term product and process strategy, ensuring alignment with GM's goals and the diverse needs of the market.
- Technology Leadership : Utilize existing capabilities while actively seeking and implementing new manufacturing technologies, automation, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality of delivery.
- Team Management : Foster a supportive environment for a team of engineers by assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, and encouraging skill development to optimize their performance.
- Process Optimization : Work together to analyze production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements that reduce costs, minimize waste, and maximize output.
- Quality Control : Promote adherence to quality standards by monitoring production processes and collaboratively implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Health and Safety : Support and comply with Health and Safety guidelines and procedures during the development and installation of production processes to ensure a safe workplace for all.
- Cost Management : Evaluate and manage manufacturing costs, including equipment, materials, and labor, while considering the impact on the team and overall operations.
- Win the Business : Assess new business opportunities for manufacturing at Rochester. Collaborate on the development of quotations (labor, BOM, investment) to support business case development that drives the award of business. Oversee the preparation and presentation of Technical Reviews with Customer Engineering and Purchasing.
- New Product Introduction : Partner with design engineering teams to ensure new products are manufacturable and transition smoothly into production. Oversee design for manufacturability and the development of component and sub-assembly level prints for sourcing purchased parts and internal processes. Collaborate with the Program Team to secure investment for necessary processes to manufacture products.
- Capacity Planning : Assess production capacity and collaboratively plan for future needs to meet demand fluctuations.
- Capital Management : Manage capital allocation for asset replacement, product programs, and business case projects. Track and allocate investment to meet project charters effectively.

Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Engineering field or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing and Engineering, or relevant experience
- 10+ years of experience in managing teams, emphasizing collaboration and support for all team members.
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, including fabrication, forming, machining, molding, joining, assembly, and testing
- Understanding of the use and application of GD&T, FEA, PLCs, Robotics, AMRs, leak test technologies, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, machine motion, machine vision, SCADA, gaging, and CMM, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Familiarity with AIAG standards such as APQP, PPAP, MSA, and SPC, encouraging adherence to best practices.
- Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate a diverse team of engineers while nurturing talent and promoting an inclusive environment.
- Analytical skills to identify problems, analyze data, and collaboratively develop solutions that consider various viewpoints.
- Project Management skills to execute initiatives on time and within budget, ensuring all voices are heard in the process.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams, valuing contributions from all members.
- Business acumen to understand the financial implications of manufacturing and product design decisions, fostering a culture of shared responsibility and awareness.
What will give you a competitive edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's Degree in a Technical Field or Business
- Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes, components, and design techniques
- Experience in business case development , product development/design, and understanding profit/loss dynamics across product teams and business units
- Experience in manufacturing management , including maintenance, quality, supply chain, and supervision
- Demonstrated track record of proficiency in cross-functional organizational agility, network building, and team development, emphasizing the importance of diverse contributions and collaboration in achieving success.

Compensation : The expected based compensation for this role is : $167,600.00 - $256,700.00 . Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position. Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
