The Role
The Global Purchasing and Supply Chain (GPSC) team is seeking experienced, motivated Buyers to support the next generation of industry-leading and sophisticated systems within our Raw Materials Team. What You'll Do
- Responsible and actively participating in development of commodity strategy, sourcing, negotiations, global, regional material budget execution, and connect with the top tier suppliers and partners.
- Responsible for purchase of a specific portion of productive materials specific to raw materials.
- Work is a sophisticated nature in involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and high level of independent judgement.
- Partner with Purchasing and Engineering to represent raw material purchasing and communicate program requirements overview
- This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- 2+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development
- Developing Contracts/Agreements - 1 to 4 years
- Project Execution - 1 to 4 years
- Experience leading commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance
- Proven competence in negotiation skills
- Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
- High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat sophisticated
- Developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, balance multipole project simultaneously, and meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to work globally, independently, and self-directed
- Ability to trave at least 5% of time
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or other related areas
- Experience with steel and stamping commodities
- Supplier purchasing processes
- Automotive proven experience
- Knowledge of procurement software
- Knowledge of materials management
- Capable of interpreting market data
- Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents
- Validated knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes
