Work Arrangement:
This position is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM's Warren Technical Center in Warren, Michigan at least 3 days a week.
The Role:
The Business Planning Manager for Global Hardware, Systems & Integration (GHSI) supports the Vice President of GHSI with strategic planning and projects. This will include managing projects, presentations, speeches, communications, shares feedback on the sentiment of the organization, and initiatives and action items as it relates to organizational strategy. This position also leads business planning, internal communications, learning and development, cultural transformation and change management. The role is a key contributor to the overall GHSI initiatives ensuring traction with activities and timely in execution. The Business Planner will be expected to consult with stakeholders, Senior Leadership, Team members and collaborate with other Business Planners within the company.

What You will Do:
- Support the VP of GHSI in running of the business (staff meetings, special assignments, etc.)
- Develop and maintain multi-year business strategy
- Manage the portfolio/business planning process
- Summarize project business cases (deliverables, benefits, timing)
- Assess execution of Business/Functional initiatives versus the Business/Functional plan
- Define the Business/Functional competitive assessment process
- Interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data and recommend solutions to unusual problems
- Manage budgets
- Identify and quantify cost reduction opportunities (working with other teams)
- Analyze and report out on key operating metrics for the group
- Handle a variety of special assignments
- Professional and organized, self-starter with managerial courage to listen, provide clear direction and feedback with all levels across the organization including executives
- Identify and implement process improvements for business management
- Assess training needs for the group
Additional Description
Your Required Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 7+ years of professional engineering experience
- 2+ years of experience managing a team
- Highly proficient communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build relationships with local and global team members and business partners
- Ability to manage multiple complex/ambiguous projects and resolve issues with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results.
- Strong decision-making skills
