The Role:
As the Area Manager for Manufacturing, you will manage salaried teams in the implementation and execution of the established business processes and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). This role requires someone who possesses the ability to deal with complex manufacturing problems while leading a large team.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
- Coach, train, develop and evaluate employees
- Create a workforce that excels in analyzing and solving complex manufacturing problems
- Passionate about safety and driving a strong safety culture
- Assist in obtaining resources to effectively perform operations
- Nearly constant contact with others outside the work group
- Administers divisional and Corporate policies
- Meets cost, schedule and quality requirements
- Maintains Corporate and unit management control systems, budget and other information necessary to monitor performance in addition to maintaining safety and good housekeeping standards
- Comply with the terms of local and national labor agreements
- Assist in the forecasting of areas of responsibility and establish a course of action to accomplish completion of jobs/projects
- Lead the overall direction and coordination of manufacturing activities
Additional Description
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 7 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment in the auto industry
- 2+ years of directly managing salaried employees
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master degree
- 8+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- GMS expert
- Proven track record solving complex problems
- Multi plant experience
- Foundry Experience
