The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced 2nd Class Operating Engineer to join our St. Catharine's Propulsion Plant - Powerhouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Required to safely and efficiently operate, maintain and repair high pressure steam gas fired boilers, air compressors and all auxiliary equipment in a first-class power plant
- Able to trouble shoot and perform routine maintenance on various operational equipment
- Perform the duties of the lead shift engineer as required for vacation and other absences

Who We Are Looking For:
- Possession of a valid 2nd Class Operating Engineer's certificate
- Able to work on Monday - Friday, 7:00 - 3:00 day shift and cover some Shift Engineer Absences (7:00am - 7:00pm & 7:00pm - 7:00am
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills
- Energetic and self-motivated
- Familiar with the operation and maintenance of large air compressors
- Working knowledge of DCS Controls
- Able to work with minimal direct supervision
- Able to work independently and as part of a team

- You will earn an afternoon shift premium of 5%, a night shift premium of 10%, paid overtime in accordance with the collective agreement.
