In this challenging position you will operate and maintain multiple furnaces in accordance with NQWI 4.09.2.16 standards as you assemble and braze metal and ceramic parts using a variety of braze alloys.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Education or GED equivalency.
  • 1 year manufacturing experience
  • Requires use of basic hand tools and measuring devices (verniers, micrometers, calipers, go-no-go gauges, dial indicators, etc.
  • Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; performs basic mathematical conversion calculations.
  • Proficient use of basic computer applications.
  • Ability and willingness to operate high temperature ovens and furnaces.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and support team initiatives; receive guidance, training and feedback from employees.
  • Cross-train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.
  • Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.
  • Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of new issues and/or processes, etc. Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of parts.
  • Select and obtain tool fixtures and programs to anneal and harden a wide variety of metal parts and components.
  • Assemble and braze metal and ceramic parts using a variety of braze alloys.
  • Must possess the ability to interpret process sheets/print specifications and apply strict specifications while working closely within close tolerances.
  • Operate and maintain multiple furnaces in accordance with NQWI 4.09.2.16 standards.
  • Enter program data, change over, adjust equipment, vary temperatures, timing, furnace internal atmospheric conditions by introduction or evacuation of gases as specified or directed.
  • Effectively and efficiently produce parts according to certification and quality guidelines.
  • May assist with prototypes or first-time builds.
  • Assist in maintenance and calibration support groups in maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Record and log data and verify completeness of documentation to comply with NADCAP requirements.
  • Must have a minimum of ninety (90) days on-the-job training before certification, and annually recertify in accordance with TP-004 Vacuum Braze Checklist.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with peers, leadership and customers.
  • Reports problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach.
  • Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.
  • Utilizes proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures per position requirements.
  • Understands and abides by the GE Leadership behaviors.
  • Other duties as be required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in a self-directed teaming environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment working with furnaces.
  • Familiarity with 6S & lean manufacturing knowledge.

Physical demands:

  • Ability to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance.
  • Ability to continuously sit; ability to occasionally lift to 20 lbs.; ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs.

The pay for this position is $20.60/hr. plus $2/hr. for the shift difference. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 9/20/2024.
