Job Description Summary

We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for engine and mechanical transmissions applied to both civil and military aviation (i.e., accessory drivetrains, engine thermal management, turboprop & helicopter reduction gearboxes, etc.).

As Testing Equipment Engineer you will be included in the specific team supporting the Test Centre located in Torino. You will be involved in designing, development, and implementation of complex technical equipment dedicated to aero component testing.
The role includes working in cooperation with other internal Engineering/Technical departments as well as Sourcing, Facilities, Quality, EHS. You will cover technical project management from the definition of the specification to the equipment commissioning and final handover to the internal/external end user. Equipment category may include mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation, fluidic/pneumatic, safety.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Preparing detailed technical specification for new equipment development and/or existing equipment retrofit/adaptation
  • Sharing technical and management information with System and Component Engineer, PM, Sourcing, EHS, Maintenance and other technical departments involved in designing and development of the equipment
  • Coordinating with the members of other technical department for obtaining the technical specification requirements to support the equipment designing process
  • Developing other aspects of equipment engineering processes, like maintaining compliance with regulatory authorities regarding their technical specifications' guidelines, warranty contract with suppliers, and other procedures with respect to budget
  • Reviewing the overall activities undertaken during the equipment engineering processes, analyzing the findings with respect to company standards
  • Selection of proper equipment and suppliers, in cooperation with Sourcing
  • Working constantly in cooperation with manufacturers and suppliers involved in designing, development, and procurement of desired equipment, to ensure proper delivery in terms of quality, time and costs
  • Perform Factory and Site Acceptance tests and provide final acceptance of the equipment
  • Preparing technical reports with safety precautions in usage of the equipment
  • Quotations and planning of new equipment and/or retrofit engineering
  • Training of end users, if needed, and overview of proper usage.
  • Best practices definition and sharing
  • Problem solving with the team and/or end users to meet testing requirements

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautics or Mechanical or Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Proven previous experience in an engineering role
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and control & instrumentation drawings and equipment
  • Basic knowledge of the Quality System and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with risk mitigation and reduction methods (FMECA, HAZOP)
  • Familiarity with safety rules and regulations (PED, ATEX, LOTO, Machine Guarding...)
  • Availability to business travel
  • Fluent English and Italian
  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
