Job Description Summary

Test Facilities Engineer (electrical/controls) will be responsible for the day to day support of 12 full aero engine test facilities used for the development and production pass off of gas-turbine engines. Working under the guidance of senior engineers this role will expose the applicant to the complete range of systems and controls that are required in this dynamic environment. Practical application of sound engineering principles will be used to support and improve availability of the test facilities. Critical thinking and Lean principals will be deployed. Critical spares holding and obsolescence management will be fundamental to these roles. In this role you will be part of the Lynn Assembly and Test Facilities Team.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the day-to-day technical support of engine test facilities and related hardware assets.
  • Develop a best practice spare parts strategy and review obsolesces management.
  • Support and guide fault finding and re-medial work with the craft teams.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the Lynn test facilities.
  • Drive LEAN and system improvement processes to streamline production and development tests
  • Remain current on modern industry standard techniques, hardware, control systems and instrumentation.
  • Take part in knowledge sharing and mentoring initiatives with specialist craft groups and other engineers.
  • Help to document best practices and user guides of test systems.
  • Support and advise on system replacements and upgrades.
  • Ideal candidate will have practical mechanical/engineering experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering, IT, scientific or other technical position)
  • Hands on practical experience in manufacturing/production environment
