Job Description Summary

This Staff Systems Engineer role will be focused on the DDI (DNS, DHCP and IPAM) Network Infrastructure landscape within Aerospace - for the integration of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (IP Address Management) into a unified service or solution. The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering and operational activities for our newly designed DDI ecosystem. The candidate will work directly with our Sr DDI Architect and Principal Architect to execute on requirements and design changes. Candidate will work closely with the GE Aerospace Separation (Network, Cloud, etc) teams to inform their thinking/solutioning.

  • Responsible for executing any support needs around our DDI ecosystem (DNS, DHCP, IPAM infrastructure)
  • Responsible for managing address allocations and integrity of the data in the domain registrars
  • Execution of service and technology standards across the network footprint
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop consensus, drive results, and execute projects across the organization on time and within budget
  • Manage several simultaneous projects from conception through implementation
  • Develop and maintain standards and designs for DDI network infrastructure and global IP registrars
  • Articulate design rationale, flexibly adapt solutions, and iterate designs when required
  • Work closely with senior management, and network engineering and operations teams
  • Enhances efficiency via automation when and wherever possible
  • Act as an escalation engineer for high severity network related production issues, work with engineers and various vendors to identify tactical and strategic solutions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have 3-5 years of proven experience designing, deploying, and managing DDI (DNS, DHCP and IPAM), project delivery with focus on performance optimization and scalability
  • Deep understanding of network architecture designs with In-depth knowledge of DNS, NTP, IPAM, BIND, and DHCP
  • Knowledge on network management and monitoring platforms
  • Recommend network improvements, including cost/benefit analysis, to meet changing business requirements
  • Sharp troubleshooting faculties, deductive reasoning, and careful attention to detail
  • Independent and self-directed work ethic when participating in a collaborative environment
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written to develop technical documentation
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to perform under pressure and detail oriented
  • Dedicated commitment to service availability and quality user experience
  • Must be results driven with a strong sense of urgency

Notes:

The base pay range for this position is $110,700 - $184,600. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on September 30th, 2024.
