As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for design and implementation of one or more modules, subsystems or services. In addition, you will drive activities to improve software quality and development methodologies. In this role, you will be focusing on developing Next-Gen data exchange solutions using AWS Cloud platform for GE Aerospace and its partner Safran.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Work closely with Sr. Architects, Businesses & Product Managers to develop and ensure a fast-paced delivery mode and focus in delivering tasks to meet the product release goal:
- Identify the scope of the work, provide initial estimate and justify the estimate with facts.
- Engage in technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas through white boarding.
- Understand the whole product, its software modules and the interrelationship between them while being an expert in the assigned component or module.
- Help design interfaces and information exchange between modules
- Expected to work with product security leads to enforce security requirements.
- Maintain software code quality through best practices, testing and code deployment automation.
- Demonstrate the ability to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment through technical design review.
- Be an expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers the desired functionality.
- Define processes to help with customer experience using tools and software techniques like scalability, reliability and auditable.
- Assess application performance and optimize/improving it through design and best coding practices.
- Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements & vision.
- Ensure fast paced and agile development environment using the state of art software technologies and infrastructure.
- Provide guidance to a team of 5 to 7 developers with either planning and execution and/or design architecture using agile methodologies such as SCRUM.

Job Characteristics
Technical Expertise:
- Experience in languages - Java, NodeJS and databases like Postgres, DynamoDB
- Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and Web Service / Microservices coding principles with a security mindset
- Experience / knowledge in AWS cloud tech stack - AWS SNS, SQS, Kinesis
- Adept in full stack design, architecture, and implementation preferably in Cloud tech stack
- Knowledge on Event-Driven architecture and Enterprise Service Bus
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software development

- Strong problem solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
- Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems
- Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks
- Evangelizes how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective

- Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions
- Influences through others; builds direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas
- Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team

- Able to work under minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
