Job Description Summary

The Avionics Tools Engineering Project Leader demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the Avionics Tools organization, directly manage complex issues within multiple projects, be involved in long-term planning and contribute to the overall Platform Tools development strategy. You will serve as the US-based, Lead Engineering Project Manager for Avionics Tools.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and technical direction to large teams for multiple programs / projects with significant business impact.
  • Establish plans / programs, define objectives, and identify resources and funding sources.
  • Manage the programs / projects, provide interim reports to customers and modify plans as required.
  • Implement a rigorous EVMS.
  • Provide counsel to teams on design practices and standards.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and program managers to assure a quality product is delivered.
  • Lead other project managers and/or cost-account managers within Avionics Tools in project accomplishment.
  • Effectively apply Project Management Professional (PMP) principles and standard.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineer field from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 5 additional years of experience leading multi-disciplined teams.
  • Experience with engineering processes including:

    • Requirements definition, allocation, validation, verification.
    • Software development and integration.

Desired Characteristics

  • 5 years of software experience.
  • EVMS (pass exam).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering
  • Ability to guide, influence and lead others not in a direct reporting relationship.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated project management ability.
  • Model-Based Development (MBD) experience.
