Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects for advanced military products
  • Execute work and support team with sound engineering principles
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area and integrates with others
  • Has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate in the market
  • Adhere to business standards, practices, procedures, and product requirements
  • Leverage prior mechanical design experience and broaden knowledge of one's own technical discipline to meet product deliverables within schedule and budget constraints
  • Demonstrate systems-thinking mentality to understand how work of one's team integrates with others to achieve product requirements
  • Exhibit autonomy to make decisions of moderately complex problems in area of expertise
  • Function as a resource for colleagues with less experience - may lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements
  • Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations
  • This role requires sound interpersonal skills to develop strong internal and external customer relationships by serving as an interface point within GE

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical design or mechanical analysis engineering position
  • Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university
  • Highly motivated, passionate about the NGP mission, and with strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve technical challenges with sound reasoning, project planning, execution, and documentation
  • Experience with structural component design and system analysis
  • Experience with manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs, projects, and teams
  • Holding an existing US Government Security Clearance
