Own supplier audits, ensuring compliance, and driving improvement plans where needed. Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may influence work.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Quality oversight of supply base: Including Supplier Quality Assurance, Hardware Quality execution and Quality Process Development. Including, but not limited to: supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards AS9100, S-1000, and APQP standards of proactive quality planning and conforming hardware delivery.
  • Leadership: Manages a team of lead and senior professional quality engineers. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise within their discipline. May require strong commercial awareness and is expected to create and influence the development of strategy, control of resources and influence policy formulation. SQE team will have various levels of differentiation and alignment relative to programs, commodity, and processes.
  • Lead functional teams or projects of various resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Will communicate complex concepts and influence business direction. Will required cross functional alignment to inform and include different points of view.
  • Owns achievement of service, quality and timeliness of KPIs and objectives. Work is subject to functional policy objectives. Regularly advises Senior management. Has both a lead and a supportive role in decision making about business practice and interpretation. High levels of evaluative judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems that impact supplier quality. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to supplier leadership and stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree accredited college or university + Minimum of 5 Years of Quality oversight of supply base: Including Supplier Quality Assurance, Hardware Quality execution and Quality Process Development.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or bachelor's degree in engineering/equivalent with at least 6 years of experience in quality and or manufacturing engineering.
    Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
