Job Description Summary

As the Sr Staff Technical Product Manager, you will be accountable for all aspects of the end-to-end lifecycle of currently deployed Assembly MES systems to meet customer, cybersecurity, and enterprise architectural requirements. You will support and maintain the Assembly MES portfolio of products and related data processing platforms and services. You will be responsible for ensuring the team has the facilities, tools, resources, and skills they need to deliver on commitments while tracking ongoing execution and delivery of Application Operations delivery SLAs. You will maintain incident management, change controls, support coverage, and provisioning compliantly, supported by purchased managed services resources. You will be responsible for technical domain, functional domain, sustainment/operations. You will ensure high availability, optimal performance, maintaining a compliant cyber posture, and low incident rates across compute infrastructure.

Job Description

In this role, you will:

  • Be accountable for end-to-end lifecycle manufacturing execution (MES) applications ecosystems supporting GE Aerospace production and development assembly. These applications include a highly customized instance of SAP CAMS as well as multiple internally developed software solutions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert of the technology stack and application blueprint.
  • Maintain operational stability, address tech debt, and minimize defects to enable operational stability for legacy data products.
  • Partner with the business, cyber and technical teams to support & maintain compliance and security related strategies such as CMMC, EVM, and DFARS.
  • Learn and become a subject matter expert on a complex landscape of products and integrations to analyze and plan for the impact of outages, infrastructure and ecosystem changes, and business process changes.
  • Ensure successful, end-to-end delivery of product or environment changes supporting separation and compliance projects such as Cloud Migration, Data Center Exit, Network, Identity, and CMMC, through ongoing client engagement, partnering with technical teams internal and external to the initiative, and coordinating all required activities and milestones.
  • Interact with customers/stakeholders in VOC requirements-gathering, fine tuning, and obtaining product feedback. Build and maintain relationships across functional stakeholders understand their data needs, requirements, and solutions to improve and optimize existing business processes.
  • Define, implement, and test application configuration to meet business needs.
  • Write / update test scripts, cut over plans, and deployment documentation.
  • Execute functional test, system integration test, and support user acceptance test (UAT).
  • Interact with software vendors and internal developers to resolve defects or request enhancements.
  • Present operational status to leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Advocate on behalf of users, business stakeholders, and customers to ensure their needs and impacts are considered in centrally led digital technology program plans and changes.
  • Go to Gemba, the assembly manufacturing shop floor, to understand the product, processes, and personas interacting with software products where the work is done.
  • Prioritize backlog of work to support operational stability, cybersecurity, separation, and business outcomes with a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, in that order, every day.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR associate's degree with minimum of 8 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 10 years of professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Computer Science or STEM related fields.
  • Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Desired Characteristics:

  • Customer focus, desire to engage with users and stakeholders on the engine assembly shopfloor.
  • Ability to read and write complex SQL.
  • Root cause investigation and permanent corrective action implementation experience, especially within a complex enterprise architecture.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in technical topics, such as tech stacks, caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security. Understand downstream impacts of tech stack decisions.
  • Use high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
  • Display excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with both business/manufacturing and technical audiences.
  • Ability to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of all decisions.
  • Assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.
  • Evaluate decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization; partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives.
  • Has knowledge of integration technologies and how to write requirements/design specifications for development and integration teams.
  • Note: Travel requirement: 10-15%
