Job Description Summary

Designs, programs, documents, tests, and fixes bugs involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks involved in a software release lifecycle resulting in a digital product. This role significantly impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality, and timeliness of objectives. The role is subject to operating policy objectives, with moderate autonomy. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve the necessary outcomes.

Job Description

  • Software Development: Design, build, deliver, and maintain software applications & services in machine, cloud, platform, and/or application areas. Responsible for the full software lifecycle, including requirement analysis, documentation/procedures, and implementation.

  • Primary programming language used is C.
  • Experience with RTC in ELM, DOORS Next Gen (DNG) now known as ERM.
  • Engaging in engine certification using DO-178C standard.
  • Familiarity with MISRA-C guidelines.
  • Strategic Influence: Requires specialized knowledge within the function to influence strategy development, resource control, and policy formulation for the area of responsibility.
  • Best Practices: Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services, staying informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Operational Judgment: Uses high-level judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering areas. Has the ability to assess the quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and provide recommendations using multiple internal and some external sources.
  • Configuration Management and Change Control: Experience in Configuration Management and Change Control processes is beneficial.
  • Team Leadership: May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' opinions on particular topics, guiding others to consider different perspectives.

  • Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field from an accredited university
    • Minimum of 5 years in a software engineering role
    • Active US Government Security Clearance or the ability and willingness to obtain and retain active US Government Security Clearance
    • Due to the nature of our projects, US Citizenship is required.

    Desired Characteristics

    • Previous experience in aircraft engine or aerospace, as well as engine testing on a rig or aircraft.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
    • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
    • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
    • Established project management skills
