Job Description Summary

This role will lead the technical migration of Test Systems infrastructure to a next generation smart network, facilitating critical growth in test capabilities. They will be responsible for planning, installation and migration of engine test cells and other infrastructure, ensuring operational readiness of company assets across North America. They will also drive new procedures to address ongoing maintenance, updates, and operational administration and support to enable higher test efficiency with lower total maintenance costs. The ideal candidate will possess a rich knowledge of network engineering and security principles and practices, be capable of adapting our current vision to a deployable solution, exhibit strong collaboration and management skills, and be comfortable with managing to financial metrics.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plan, Design, implement, and administer operational network resources to meet Test Systems needs especially in safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Develop, document and implement processes and technical records for configuration changes, security and isolation requirements, maintenance actions and other support needs.
  • Ensure the network architecture and implementations meets reliability, availability, and scalability requirements and can be implemented, adapted and serviced within the available time constraints.
  • Lead problem solving, adaption and management of change as we expand the breadth of included client systems, test cell deployments, and new environments, including airborne platforms.
  • Develop verification and regression tests and procedures, such that fixes are timely and resilient.
  • Collaborate with development staff, providing technical guidance, education, and support as they advanced their individual test systems and integrate into the Smart Network environment.
  • Manage relationships with technology suppliers, service partners and contracted resources to insure operational stability.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure effective controls and appropriate monitoring and logs are maintained.
  • Coordinate with financial staff, facility owners, operational staff, skilled trades and other stakeholders or partners to enable predictable deployment schedules and effective execution.
  • Drive and maintain a high level of professionalism within the organization.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 10+ years of Network experience to include experience in an operational environment.
  • Demonstrable evidence of planning and execution skills applied to network deployment and support.
  • Proven trouble shooting skills, including the ability to resolve complex problems network interactions.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Network Engineering gained through a suitable degree and certification(s)
  • Technical background in cyber-security, including at least one appropriate certification(s) with working knowledge of effective means of compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in, collaborate with, and lead an organizationally diverse team under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with software development teams and their unique needs for access to deployed systems, including networking stack interactions in containerized and/or virtualized hosted environments.
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations related to the target environment, such as Precision Time Protocol and Safety integrity levels.
  • Demonstrable high Say/Do Ratio: Intense focus on timely action and seeing plans through to fruition.
  • Tenacity. Ability to focus and resolve roadblocks.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
