Job Description Summary

As a software application engineer, you will work on a dynamic team designing, implementing, and creating geometric and mathematical algorithms for engineering applications to ensure the quality of jet engine components including dimensional metrology, design, materials, and manufacturing engineers to accelerate measurement productivity. Collaborate with other programming experts and software developers to create robust algorithms to ensure part quality with high reliability. You will work with the latest aerospace part designs and materials systems and work with the design teams to define inspection solutions and enable future productivity strategies. Software development projects include MBD applications, cooling hole analysis, computational optimization, and object-oriented design.

Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintained NX Open/Ufunc programs

• Develop mathematical algorithms for dimensional analysis.

• Participate in the development and implementation of MBD for dimensional metrology

• Execute and provide guidance for the analysis/evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices, and procedures and the product/program requirements

• Institute collaboration practices between self-organizing and cross-functional teams. Apply appropriate regression testing methods to inspection software releases

• Identify need for technical and program reviews within the organization; lead and participate in the technical reviews with limited guidance from senior engineers

• Demonstrate ability to monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments as appropriate

• Assure proper documentation of technical data or programs generated for the assigned projects and tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or in

related fields + 5 years software development with relevant experience in metrology field.

• Must be a US Citizen or Active Green Card Holder (Export Controlled).

Desired Characteristics

• Experience with cooling holes, airfoils and dovetail terminology and dimensional requirements.

• Advanced degree MS or PhD

• Experiences with NX, DEFORM-3D, and Reshaper software platforms.

• Experiences with C++, Java, and .NET

• JavaScript, Python, or other engineering scripting languages.

• Advanced knowledge in performance, scalability, and best practices for deploying computer application solutions

• Experience leading development teams for design of software architectures and incorporation of customer requirements with a focus on quality

• Troubleshoot local area network connected multi-computing environments

• Ability to guide and influence others

• In-depth understanding of engineering technology, tools, and computer operating systems

• Demonstrated software coding capabilities and computer networking/security capabilities in a production environment

• Experience in a dimensional metrology testing environment

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
