Site, Business, OR Functional Area Overview: Working at our McAllen Facility
The GE Aerospace facility in McAllen is one of our centers of expertise specializing in the repair of engine components used in commercial and military aircraft. These include LPT Nozzles, HPT Nozzles, and HPT Hangars. You'll find state of the art technologies in CNC, EDM, and Coating as well as advanced technology development within our new Tech Lab.

Role Overview: As the Sr Manufacturing Staff Manager for Special Processes & Shared Services, you will work on-site in McAllen, TX, managing an operation, business unit, or part of a production facility to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery, and safety. You will ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards, and manage a team of salaried employees.

Additional Duties:

  • Manage an operation, business unit, or part of a production facility to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
  • Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards.
  • Team management of salaried employees, excluding production supervisors who oversee hourly employees.
  • Manage a small to medium team of senior professionals and others, requiring specialized knowledge within the function.
  • Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and policy formulation.
  • Interpret simple internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
  • Stay informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Use high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
  • Assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.
  • Offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and construct and provide recommendations.
  • Use multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
  • Communicate difficult concepts and may influence others' opinions on particular topics.
  • Guide others to consider a different point of view.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Previous experience with Special Processes, Logistics areas, and repair of engine components.
  • Experience in Flight Deck and Continuous Improvement.

Additional Information:

  • Full-time position with standard business hours.
  • Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
  • Primary location: McAllen (GET) TX US.
  • Background and drug screening required.
  • Must pass background and drug screens.
