You will be part of GE Aviation that is a world-leading provider of jet and turboprop engines for commercial and military aircraft, at the cutting-edge CMC technology manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Alabama. As the Lead Finance Specialist for Manufacturing Operations, you will report directly to the Huntsville Site Finance Leader, and partner with the Huntsville operations team. Additionally, you will interface with the Supply Chain FP&A and Leadership teams. You will utilize your technical expertise and judgement to solve problems and will be a "hands-on" owner of P&L and balance sheet activities for Inventory, OPEX and CAPEX. This operational finance position will require direct involvement in driving solutions to obstacles encountered while helping to drive process improvements.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
As the Sr. Financial Analyst for Manufacturing Operations, your key responsibilities will include:
- Execution of site strategy and manufacturing finance activities, including coordinating planning (forecasting, budgeting, strategy), complete month-end close activities and reporting
- P&L and balance sheet activities, including product cost accounting, absorption and direct hours analysis, functional operational costs, inventory controls, physical inventory, cycle counts, aged WIP, standard cost roll-ups, job close and other variances analysis, and material losses
- Identify opportunities to implement LEAN Business Philosophy where applicable
- Ability to understand cost drivers and improve cost controls
- Oracle ERP system ownership which will include standard cost review and cost roll-up, BOM (Bill of Material) and engineering routes analysis and updates, ERP support to other functions, site finance support for Oracle Process Manufacturing (OPM) implementation for new Fiber plant
- CAPEX (Plant and Equipment) financial control, CIP analysis, Fixed Asset capitalization analysis, and Fixed Asset audit
- Support U.S. government accounting and reporting requirement
- Work closely with auditors (Internal Audit, Deloitte, DCAA) to ensure cost and reporting compliance
- You will impact site projects, processes, and procedures, and you will develop in-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations of the Huntsville site
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting/Business or similar from an accredited university or college
- 5+ years of relevant finance or accounting experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing environment
- Understanding of basic accounting and manufacturing operations concepts
- Experience with ERP systems in manufacturing environment (Oracle, SAP or similar)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (advanced formulas and functions, lookups, sumifs, pivot tables and pivot charts, data validation, consolidation, and presentation etc.)
- Strong business computer skills (Windows run PCs, Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Word, online collaboration tools, audio/video meetings)
- High integrity and focus on compliance
- Ability to anticipate and resolve issues and challenges
- Effective interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
- Effective problem identification and solution skills
- Proven analytical and organizational ability
- Knowledge of Lean Business Philosophy
- Project Management experience
- Availability to work weekends and holidays during quarter-end close
- Ambitious, willing to share best practices, able to challenge and be challenged, eager to learn
