Job Description Summary

Drives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the Engineering function and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Act as Special Process Owner as define in company procedure.
  • Provide operational and technical leadership on repair processes as well as improving existing current process in shop.
  • Prepare and control Process Documents applicable to repair process area as per GEESM internal procedure.
  • Review and approve all Repair routers/ Process Sheet, consumables and Equipment related to Welding and Heat Treatment.
  • Responsible to undertake the necessary corrective and preventive action resulting from quality non-compliance monitoring and audit program.
  • Initiates, identifies, recommends, and leads projects in the area of responsibility to improve product safety, quality, and cost.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to perform troubleshooting activities, lead improvement projects, and problem-solving events and resolve equipment/downtime issues.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by superior.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Material Science Engineering.
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in areas related to Manufacturing / MRO industry.
  • Non-Aviation industry are also can be considered.
  • Essential (Must Have) theoretical and practical knowledge/experience in Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Heat Treatment process.
  • Prior experience in area of R&D or New Product Introduction Initiatives
  • Solid critical thinking skills (ability to manage and resolve conflict, communicate issues, and propose solutions to stakeholders).
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to identify problems and propose solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize Route Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) to identify and analyze problems.
