Job Description
As a Software Test and Verification Architect within the Platform & Test Software Engineering team, you will exert a pivotal role in providing technical leadership. Your mission will be to foster collaboration across engineering and business product areas to promote a unified Software Product Line Engineering, Test, Build, and Verification & Validation (V&V) strategy. You will provide guidance, mentoring, oversight, and tactical/strategic direction to our software team while guiding the team through new product development.
Role and Responsibilities:
- DO-178C Software Verification: Develop and maintain a Product Line Extensible Test framework including test cases, test procedures, and test result for requirements-based testing of embedded software.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders throughout the software life cycle.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, tools, and processes to enhance project outcomes.
- Drive productivity improvements by identifying and implementing best practices across multi-disciplined teams.
- Develop and use Trade-Studies to help guide choices in emerging technology that will provide the best outcomes.
- Mentor technical teams throughout the software development life cycle including testability of requirements and models, requirements Based Test generation for verification & validation, and certification with an emphasis on DO-178B/C V&V.
- Serve as an individual contributor with exceptional people skills, capable of developing talent.
- Provide guidance to new team members. Work in an agile/scum environment as a technical resource.
Technical Skills:
- DO-178C Compliance: Deep understanding of DO-178C guidelines and ensuring all V&V activities comply with DO-178C standards.
- DO-330 Compliance: Comprehensive understanding of DO-330 (Software Tool Qualification Considerations) in the qualification of software tools used in the verification of airborne systems.
- DO-331 application: Understanding of how Model Based Design (MBD) is applied, developed, verified, and ultimately certified to meet DO-178B/C.
- Expert level use of tools such as: DOORS, Cameo EA, awareness, and knowledge of CI tools such as Jenkins.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience in Engineering and Technology.
- 10+ years of experience in development/testing of embedded software.
- 5+ years of experience working on DO-178C Software Level A-C programs.

Desired Qualifications:
- Expert practitioner with the CAMEO Enterprise Architect Tool.
- Expertise in Model Based Design (MBD) for software architecture, requirements, design, and Test of real-time systems.
- Expertise in Continuous Integration/Build, Testing, and Integration solutions, including hardware in the loop testing, hardware emulation, and hardware/software integration.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with ability to influence product leadership and technology strategy.
- Familiarity with computing platforms, network products, real-time operating systems, and multi-core processor architectures.
- Experience leading virtual teams across multiple time zones.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher (for GE Employees).
- Experience working with global development teams within GE and GE Preferred Suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to meet cost/schedule targets and effectively interface with multiple disciplines (Hardware/Software/Systems and Test Systems Engineering).
