Site Overview

Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.

Role Overview:

  • Lead the preliminary design of mechanical suite tools and technology assessments.
  • Challenge current processes, anticipate problems, and create innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to define and refine the strategy for mechanical tools.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to teams, ensuring proper documentation and communication of project status.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in processes and methodologies, with the ability to adapt and improvise in various situations. Expert in navigating through ambiguity and prioritizing conflicting tasks.
  • Implement solutions in the platform and framework of GE Aerospace, using CAD like NX and ensure proper validation, review, and documentation of analytical tools and methods
  • Follow standard SDLC process for tool release and updates (Code update, Integration, Compilation, Testing, Validation, TG review and Release)
  • Act as a strategic leader with a strong engineering background who thrives in dynamic environments, with the ability to drive innovative solutions and guide others through challenges.

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a mechanical engineering position.
  • Minimum 5 years of software development experience in customizing design tools using NX, C++ Python or similar programming languages.
  • Strong knowledge of NX-Modeling
  • Exposure to SDLC processes and experience in deploying customized tools to users.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctorate Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Have 8+ years of professional or research experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering domain.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems and demonstrate systems thinking.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Experience leading global cross-functional teams.
