Working at our Vandalia Facilities
Our Vandalia facility is located 50 minutes north of the GE Aerospace headquarters and sits just north of the city of Dayton-known widely as the birthplace of aviation-where the Wright Brothers built the world's first aircraft in their bicycle shop in the heart of downtown Dayton. This business boasts a rich history, in operation for over 100 years. At over 140,000 square feet, the Vandalia facility rests on 27 acres right off Interstate 75.

Role Overview:
The Senior Production Quality Manager is responsible for managing the quality assurance processes within the production environment and improving capabilities to comply with external standards and regulations. This role ensures that quality standards are maintained throughout the production lifecycle.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance Leadership:
- Lead the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement quality management systems and processes.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and standardization.
- Compliance and Audits:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards, including ISO, AS9100, and other aerospace-specific regulations.
- Prepare for and lead internal and external quality audits.
- Maintain documentation and records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Supplier Quality Management:
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Customer Focus:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and issues.
- Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints and implementation of corrective actions.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and implement initiatives to improve quality performance.
- Training and Development:
- Provide training and development opportunities for the quality assurance team.
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in quality management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 9 years of experience in manufacturing quality)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading people
- This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 15+ years of experience in manufacturing quality
- 10+ years of experience leading people
- Prior working experience in the Aerospace industry
- Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer)
- Experience with advanced quality tools and techniques (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP)
- Strong knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100)
- Proven experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
