Support the creation of a culture of innovation and continuous improvement enabled by simplified systems, processes, and standard work across GE Aerospace Research. Support a robust daily, weekly monthly operating cadence within Operations, in sync with the rhythm of the entire enterprise. Responsible for owning Lean processes, leading trainings, leading or supporting Kaizens, and "Just do it" events that improve organizational effectiveness across the GE Aerospace Research value stream.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and simplicity across the organization
  • Support the integration of the Lean Journey Roadmap into the top of the house and organizational level operating cadences driving measurable and sustained deployment of standard work, 5S and lean initiatives
  • Develop, maintain, and track the "health" of the organization's value stream as part of the continuous improvement process.
  • Support a robust daily, weekly and monthly operating cadence within Operations, in sync with the rhythm of the entire enterprise.
  • Identify priorities, develop and implement standard work across the organization.
  • Responsible for ownership of specific daily, weekly, and monthly management processes that measure the health of operations with respect to supporting the top of the house bowler
  • Responsible for functional ownership of various processes that support lean operations and researcher effectiveness.
  • Deploy lean across the enterprise by leading and participating in Lean events to remove waste and improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop materials where required and train various teams on Lean tools, methodologies and how to effectively deploy "Flight Deck," the GE Aerospace Operating Model
  • Work with various operational colleagues to ensure solutions are comprehensive, sustainable, and properly account for the impact across the entire value stream.
  • Work closely with the Operations Leader-Process Improvement to coordinate and load balance workstreams.
  • Work closely with the Data Analytics and Reporting Standards operations leader to ensure process, data and system improvements are in sync.
  • Work with other colleagues in operations to ensure each position has an adequate back-up.
  • Partner with the Research Program Office (RPO) to maintain robust, efficient, and connected internal and external pursuit processes.
  • Responsible for maintaining a voice of the customer (VOC) operating rhythm and process improvement prioritization process across the entire value stream.
  • Partner with Aerospace Engineering on short and long-term business process improvement initiatives.
  • Work with operations team on tradeoff studies to determine where there is synergy between GE Aerospace Research and GE Aerospace Engineering for larger scale process and system level improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations, program management and/or quality management roles.
  • Must be willing to work onsite in Niskayuna, NY
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience leading Lean events
  • A proven track record of process improvement and control plan implementation across an organization
  • Experience implementing Lean tools in complex environments.
  • Experience with management of change processes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs and projects.

The base pay range for this position is 117,000.00 195,00.00 USD Annual USD Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary. This posting is expected to close on November 6 2024
