Senior Leader - Sanctions Compliance

Lawyers and non-lawyers providing leadership and oversight to business operations to assure adherence to all aspects of internal company and external regulatory compliance. Insures appropriate mechanisms are in place to comply with relevant laws and regulations, and adherence to corporate programs and practices. Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, interpret, and complete business impact assessments of evolving U.S. and non-U.S. sanctions, including sanctions implemented pursuant to the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the UK's Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, and the EU's Council Regulation (EU) No 833/2014.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain a best-in-class sanctions compliance program and deploy risk-based compliance controls and process enhancements.
  • Oversee management of sanctions compliance controls, including reviews of complex high-risk transactions and administration of screening tools and related company systems.
  • Lead cross functional internal committee tasked identifying sanctions risk and liaising with senior leadership to develop sanctions response plans that limit business impacts while ensuring compliance operations.
  • Establish key performance indicators to drive full implementation of sanctions compliance controls across all GE Aerospace business units.
  • Maintain sanctions compliance policies, procedures, and guidance, and providing related training to applicable stakeholders.
  • Lead engagement and communication with government officials, as required.
  • Assess ITC issues during due diligence and integration for strategic dispositions, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Undertake special projects and support other compliance program continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Based on experience, this role may oversee direct reports tasked with managing day-to-day sanctions compliance activities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • A minimum of 12 years of professional experience, with at least 8 years of experience in International Trade Compliance
  • Corporate experience in the application of U.S. and non-U.S. export control and sanctions regulations to business operations
  • Ability to travel domestic and international approximately 10% of time.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
