Job Description Summary

Key member of Legal & Compliance team managing legacy liabilities on behalf of GE Aerospace. The Senior Counsel, Strategic Transactions provides legal advice and support to business leaders across GE Aerospace to mitigate legacy liabilities, manage a global litigation portfolio, and develop and drive risk mitigation strategies.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice to the business on global legacy issues, including but not limited to issues related to commercial and consumer loans, real estate portfolios, leasing, and equity investments.
  • Develop and execute strategies for resolution of legacy portfolio issues.
  • Manage a global portfolio of litigation arising from legacy GE businesses.
  • Evaluate and advise cross-functional business teams (finance, tax, treasury) on the legal risk being undertaken with respect to a particular action, transaction, or agreement.
  • Provide advice regarding legal entity governance, simplification, and reorganizations.
  • Assist with reports for review committees, external auditors, and regulators.
  • The base pay range for this position is $$162,300 to $270,400.The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary. This posting is expected to close on February 15, 2025

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week in the office.

Required Qualifications

• JD or law degree from an accredited university

• 10+ years of legal practice

• Member in good standing with the State Bar

• Ability to travel up to 10% of time domestic or international

Desired Characteristics

• Experience with finance transactions, litigation, and corporate governance.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems.

• Prior in-house or corporate experience.
