Job Description Summary
The Project Planner/Master Scheduler plays a significant part in the Planning and Monitoring/Controlling Process Groups within Project Management. The Project Planner will team-up with the Project Manager to form a cadence of actions and reviews that will help the project teams perform to the project's requirements and deliverables, on time and within budget.
Tasks will include schedule creation, schedule updates, schedule variance analysis, change management, resource demand profiles, multiple reporting documents and project dashboard reviews.
The current role will be focused on a major Transition Project. This scheduler will provide the business a clear target of the timeliness for moving equipment, material, labor, team training, compliance, and certification of the product line in transition. This will be the resources full time role for 2-3 years. After the transition project is over, the resource will be an NPI scheduler, unless deemed otherwise by the business needs.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensures project implementation as well as work packages and constraints are accurately integrated into project planning scenario.
- Responsible for monitoring progress and producing accurate projections.
- Critical Path Analysis
- Creates Schedule What-If models and presents outcome to IPT.
- Ensures other functions have access to accurate current reports and projections and relevant reports are available for the customer.
- Will deliver on a Project Management Cadence that includes Schedule Management, Schedule Variance Analysis, Change Management, Forecasting, Demand Profiles, and other project deliverables, related to reporting and Integrated Product Team meetings.
- Understanding of how work of own team, integrates with other teams, and contributes to the area. (Engineering, Finance, Sales, PMO)
- Will have autonomy to make informed suggestions to the IPT team regarding project execution.
- May provide guidance in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
- Will participate in Director and Executive level meetings that address Project Health and may help the Project Manager deliver the projects message to leadership.
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills.
- Develops strong internal customer relationships and serves as the interface between the project team and the business.
- Explains programmatic variables to others.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with at least 4 years of experience or a high school diploma / GED with 7 years of experience in Project Management & Project Planning
- This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.
Desired Characteristics
- MS Project knowledge beyond basic schedule creations.
- Preferred platform for scheduling experience, MS Project, with the ability to adapt to other scheduling tools like Deltek Open Plan.
- High competency with MS Office Tools, particularly Excel (pivot tables, X or VLOOKUP) Word, and Power Point.
- EVMS Fundamentals
- PMP Certification or some formal training on the PMBOK guidelines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience building, updating, and leading schedules and their reviews.
- Understands change management in regard to updates within the schedule and its Control Accounts. Channel baseline change requests.
- Knows how to interpret Project Dashboards in regard to SPI.
- Ability to influence and gain trust within different skill levels and hierarchies in the business.
