Role Overview

The OWS Engineer will be responsible for the engineering benchmark associated with the manufacturing (disassembly, repair, and assembly) process and the industrialization and eventual standardization of the shop's repair processes including workscope and workstation preparedness.

GE On Wing Support is a 24 / 7 / 365 operation. Applicants must be willing and able to support calls during off-hours when emergency situations arise.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Provide technical leadership to shop operations, Quality Control, etc. regarding: workscope and evaluation for engines and/or components; service bulletins; modifications; configuration; new repair techniques for engines assigned. Establish tollgates to ensure compliance.
  • Be responsible for shop's integration and execution of Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, Special Procedures, and regular and unscheduled maintenance tasks to ensure Regulatory, Customer, and OEM requirements have been satisfied.
  • Receive engine-specific workscopes, special work orders, repair order, etc. from CTP, product engineering and / or customers, evaluate, and translate into enterprise tool. Convert incoming records for workscope applicability and configuration management
  • Develop, in detail, methods procedures that include tooling, adapters, special equipment requirements and their application, processing techniques to repair, and ultimately the step sequence methodology in which tasks should be completed in accordance with approved data. Identify special check procedures plus additional information as required. Work on a global team to create, regularly review, and improve these global routers. Translate output into enterprise system.
  • Partner with production and planning teams to coordinate workscopes, etc. to effectively complete engine repairs in the shop or at offsite locations throughout the world
  • Initiate DRs/DICAs and follow through disposition. Engage Product Support Engineering and/or other resources to eliminate fleet issues
  • Provides necessary equipment and tooling engineering support as required. Anticipate and respond to identified needs, both immediate and projected. Work to assure efficient operations by providing necessary services and planning. Maintain / organize facility and tooling as required. Introduce new tooling and advanced technology to improve the repair process. Instruct technician group in tooling usage as required.
  • Liaison across multiple departments include both the internal team and customers to ensure seamless service and work scope execution.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and tasks. Ensure consistency with engineering policies and procedures, and customer requirements
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
  • Participate in problem-solving process. Perform as a problem-solver, as necessary, to ensure adherence to quality and schedules.
  • Support Quality activities related to defect investigations and corrective action implementation from a technical perspective.
  • Understand appropriate Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Engine Shop Manual procedures.
  • Demonstrate required knowledge of OWS Quality Procedures, as well as FAA/EASA Part 145 requirements and procedures. Act in accordance with the site's Repair Station and Quality Control Manual and other applicable regulation/bounds.
  • Deliver "all-hands on deck" support for AOGs (Aircraft On Ground) as they arise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with engine maintenance, trouble shooting, and assembly
  • CAAC P66 Maintenance person license must have, familiarity with common overhaul documentation (aircraft maintenance manuals, engine manuals, SBs, etc.) is required .
  • CAAC maintenance person license English Test level 4
  • Availability to work flexible shift patterns as required, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability and willingness to support calls during off-hours when emergency situations arise

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated Approaches work with a "can-do" attitude and a sense of commitment to both the team and customer objectives
  • Possess a desire to learn and grow with technology advancements and new engine models
  • Features strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including problem-solving ability
  • Holds previous LEAP, GE90, CFM, CF6, CF34, and GENX experience and international field experience. This knowledge to include Line maintenance, engine changes, module removal & installation, and/or LRU removals and installations.
  • Proven leadership experience leading initiatives of moderate scope and impact
  • Demonstrated quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
