The On Wing Support Dallas Site Leader will develop and execute the site strategy, and operationally lead the team consistent with a KPI based performance management approach. The site currently performs LEAP and CFM56 Quick Turn Shop Visits, plus is a base for Line and Field Maintenance support in Americas region and beyond for the entire GE Aerospace commercial engines portfolio. Over time, the site's capacity and capability will grow substantially, most significantly through adding narrowbody test capability as a result of investing in the repair and recommissioning of the Carterfield Test Cell on site.

The individual will be expected to lead the site consistent with FLIGHT DECK fundamentals, following individual leader standard work, and must also meet day-to-day short-term objectives. Candidates must have an ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning, and also be able to project-manage and execute long term initiatives. Positive working relationships with technicians, support staff, contractors, customers and suppliers are critical to the success of this role.

On Wing Support is a 24 / 7 / 365 operation with sites in multiple global time zones. Although every effort is made to respect local time zones of all team members, leaders are expected to be willing and flexible within reason to accommodate and support all global sites.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, grow and actively promote a safe, open-reporting culture within the team. The Site Leader should demonstrate through their actions and decisions that we prioritize according to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost in that order, and lead the team always with unyielding integrity.
  • Respect for People - Lead transparently, foster an inclusive environment at the site, build a team with broad perspectives and relevant experience, and constructively develop the team.
  • Customer Focus - Understand our customer's perspective and what they value, prioritize our work to deliver customer impact, measure site performance through our customer's eyes, and listen to learn and improve from external feedback.
  • Continuous Improvement - Build a candid, humble and transparent approach to problem solving and learning at the site, constantly searching for a better way, improving our standards via a proactive kaizen mindset.
  • Fulfil the obligations of the Accountable Manager to the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) and any other Foreign Authorities as required, ensure that the site maintains the certifications/readiness required to execute the projected customer, product and capability demand, and provide the leadership and oversight necessary within the site and GE Aerospace's Quality & Safety Management Systems.
  • Ensure the site remains compliant with all applicable domestic and foreign laws, environmental policies, industry regulations, financial reporting and tax obligations.
  • Ensure that all fundamentals of FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace's proprietary Operating System, are implemented throughout the entire scope of the site's activities, and use FLIGHT DECK to both run the business, and continually improve it.
  • Contribute to the Global OWS 'One Global Team' approach by sharing learning and best practices, adopting and improving on global Standards, and participating/leading kaizen activity in search of a better way.
  • Operationally lead the team using a KPI-based performance management approach to deliver on both shop and field activity, maintaining the required balance between both categories of work.
  • Develop and deliver on the site's long term strategy, including completing the current facility redevelopment work, adding test capability to the site's portfolio, and consider further capability NPI's which may be required to deliver on future demand.
  • Ensure continuity of site business operations throughout the site regeneration and construction project.
  • Ensure the site has all the necessary resources in order to deliver on the strategic growth plan, including (but not limited to) a Strategic Workforce Plan including hiring, training & development, retention, market positioning/competitiveness and organization design needs, and the capital investment required to support the growth plan.
  • Ensure the site is a responsible and pro-active member of the local community, engaging and contributing positively within the surrounding area.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with relevant stakeholders - our Customers, other OWS sites and the Global OWS team, ATMRO sites, GE Aerospace and other industry participants in the local area, and GE Aerospace's Product, Customer and Technical teams.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of experience in aviation maintenance repair and overhaul.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience required.
