Job Description Summary
Avio Aero Advanced Technology Operations is looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Advanced Systems & Preliminary Design team. The Staff Engineer's prime responsibility will be to lead the design and technology development of High Speed Turbine efforts enabling Next Gen Narrow Body (NGNB) engine architectures.
The NGNB LPT Module Leader will play a critical role in the NGNB integrated global team, demonstrating leadership in managing technical and operational execution strategy, and engaging across GE globally and with industrial and academic partners. The NGNB LPT Module Leader contributes directly to GE Aviation's short & long-term business goals.
Activities include LPT system conception, system analysis, requirements development, traceability and flow down, module architecture design and system integration, developing/executing validation test procedures, and providing support to manufacturing and tests execution enabling module technology maturation plan, including complete oversight of TRL5 execution through Cold Flow vehicle

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop guidance for the design, analysis and technology maturation of NGNB High Speed Turbine module that meet business standards, practices and procedures as well as the product/program requirements
- Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements
- Execute resolutions of challenging technical issues related to NGNB High Speed Turbine module
- Identify need for technical and program reviews within the organization
- Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and program commitments for LPT module components and systems
- Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
- Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams and mentor others in the organization
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Monitor and communicate program status, business issues and significant developments
- Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks
Qualifications/Requirements
- Master Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university
- Sound and proven experience in LPT/turbomachinery NPI programs and systems organization
- LPT Mechanical design knowledge in terms of both components and system design
- Clear thinking and diligent approach
- English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Work VISA, according to local regulation, is required
