Job Description Summary

As NDE Imaging Intelligence Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on designing, implementing, and creating image display and analysis technologies to ensure the quality of jet engine components. This includes working with nondestructive testing modalities, design, materials, and manufacturing engineers to enhance NDE productivity. You will collaborate with image analytics experts and software developers to develop robust Assisted Defect Recognition (ADR) algorithms, ensuring high reliability in part quality. You will engage with the latest aerospace part designs and material systems, working closely with design teams to define inspection solutions and enable future productivity strategies. Software development projects will encompass image processing and engineering, cloud computing, parallelization, computational optimization, and object-oriented design, along with various other artificial intelligence (AI) techniques.

Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Computed Tomography (CT)/X-ray, ultrasonic, visual, or thermographic images.
  • Develop image analysis and quality evaluation software that meets business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Institute collaboration between self-organizing and cross-functional teams, applying appropriate regression testing methods to inspection software releases.
  • Identify the need for technical and program reviews within the organization; lead and participate in these reviews with limited guidance from senior engineers.
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments as appropriate.
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data or programs generated for assigned projects and tasks, consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer/electrical engineering from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering or software development with relevant image processing and intelligent systems focus.) + 3 years engineering or software development with relevant image processing and intelligent systems focus.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Active Green Card Holder (Export Controlled)

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's degree in computer/electrical engineering with 3 years of experience implementing image analysis software.
  • Experience in image processing, image enhancement/restoration, signal processing, object recognition, pattern recognition, feature extraction.
  • Familiarity with Rhythm, VG Studio, and Avizo software platforms; proficiency in object-oriented software development, C/C++, IDL, Python/numpy/scipy/openCV, or other engineering scripting languages.
  • Experience leading development teams in designing software architectures and incorporating customer requirements with a focus on quality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot local area network-connected multi-computing environments.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering technology, tools, and computer operating systems
  • Demonstrated software coding capabilities and computer networking/security skills in a production environment.
  • Experience in a nondestructive testing environment.
  • Experience with aviation quality requirements and systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
