Job Description Summary
The Materials Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of materials from suppliers and within departments to meet production schedules. This role collaborates closely with Site Planning/Fulfillment, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and Lean Leaders to gather and analyze information necessary for planning, updating, and executing the site's manufacturing material requirements and inventory strategy.
Key responsibilities include maintaining optimal raw material levels to support a constrained weekly master production schedule (MPS) and managing the frozen horizon for all production material requirements, including weekly scheduling, forecast analysis, and recovery planning. The Materials Production Planner plays a crucial role in developing and implementing raw material and inventory planning models, policies, processes, and procedures to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs.

This position also oversees the communication of material schedules to relevant internal and external stakeholders and ensures alignment with leadership cadences. Additionally, the Materials Production Planner serves as the interface between the GE Aerospace IPT Product Lines and Materials Forecasting/Planning teams to synchronize near-term demand profiles.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage master materials planning processes and systems, translating production schedules into raw material purchasing needs. Ensure alignment with the production plan and key performance indicators (KPIs). Facilitate opportunities to optimize inventory and drive process improvements through standard problem-solving techniques.
- Optimize inventory levels and oversee raw material cycle counts to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Interface with customer-facing functions within GE Aerospace Supply Chain Materials and Product Operations. Communicate effectively with business units, peers, internal and external customers, and outside suppliers to ensure seamless operations.
- Utilize specialized knowledge in planning fundamentals and plant/manufacturing operations to influence strategy development within the area of responsibility. Control resources and influence policy formulation and standard work practices.
- Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Stay informed of industry trends that may impact work and apply this knowledge to drive improvements.
- Use high-level judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems. Present strategies and delivery status to senior leaders. Assess the quality of information provided and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Analyze data to identify issues or problems outside of set parameters and provide well-constructed recommendations. Utilize multiple internal and some external sources to inform decision-making.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and complexity. Develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customers/suppliers and GE Aerospace. Explain technical information clearly to others
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of Supply Chain experience, with Production Control experience preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of Supply Chain/Manufacturing experience

- Basic understanding of Lean concepts like Standard Work, Pull/Kanban, OEE

- Demonstrated leadership and subject matter expertise in materials production systems and understanding of the End-to-End Supply Chain flow.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field preferred.
- Experience in production planning, finish goods and raw material buying/planning.
- Ability to translate complex situations into simple working solutions.
