Job Description Summary:
To organise material within various production "hold areas" as required.
To deliver material to individual work centers within the Gate(s) to ensure the flow of engine and single item components, whilst improving productivity within the production personnel at the individual work centers.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensure all duties complied within the facility are carried out using GE Aerospace's Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost (SQDC) principles.
- Transportation of components and barrows between work centers to ensure constant flow of material to achieve target completion dates.
- Control the use of Work in Progress (WIP) lanes, storage areas and kanban systems.
- To be able to use various material handling equipment including powered vehicles.
- As required ensure accuracy of part tagging during part movement(s).
- Assist with the supply of engine and consumable material from the stores.
- To liaise with Flow Planner, shop personnel and if required Cell Leader.
- Highlight any Lean opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
- Stand in for the Flow Planner as required.

Desirable but not essential:
Good working knowledge of material handling procedures
Key Responsibilities:
- Transportation of components and barrows between Clean, NDT, Inspection as well as final inspection to ensure constant flow of material to achieve target completion dates.
- Determine production schedule through use of Spotfire tool and cell schedular.
- Control the use of WIP lanes and improve procedures for barrow identification.
- Aid in the location of components misplaced during CNI transportation.
- Assist with the supply of consumable material from the stores into CNI.
- To liaise with lead mechanics, cell leader and customer cell on relevant communication issues.
- Attend production meetings, update on material progress, and provide early notification of flow issues, bottlenecks, etc.
- Assist in the update and maintenance of the production reports.
- Champion LEAN to ensure that every opportunity to drive improvement is exploited.
Experience/Qualification
- Good general knowledge of engine components.
- A good level of computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Web Based portals).
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact at all levels.
- Ability to prioritise and manage jobs efficiently.
- Good working knowledge of material handling procedures.
- Demonstrate good judgment, interpersonal skills, and initiative.
