Role Overview:

The Master Scheduling Leader is responsible for leading the scheduling team and managing the production schedule to ensure timely delivery of products. This role involves coordinating with various departments, including production, procurement, and logistics, to optimize the flow of materials and resources. The Master Scheduler People Leader ensures that schedules are realistic, achievable, and aligned with the company's goals and objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the scheduling team.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Drive daily management, operating rhythms and problem solving to achieve KPIs and TTIs - and to support stakeholders in doing the same.

Production Scheduling:

  • Act as process owner for S&OP - lead Supply Review step and facilitate Reconciliation & Decision steps.
  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure materials and resources are available.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand, production delays, or other factors.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling-related inquiries.
  • Communicate schedule changes and updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and optimize production flow.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles to enhance scheduling efficiency.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive initiatives to improve scheduling accuracy and reliability.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate and analyze scheduling reports to track performance and identify trends.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on scheduling status and issues.
  • Use data-driven insights to make informed scheduling decisions.

Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC):

  • Ensure all scheduling activities prioritize safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Implement and adhere to safety protocols and standards.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in scheduling processes.
  • Optimize delivery schedules to meet customer expectations.
  • Manage costs effectively while maintaining schedule integrity.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production scheduling, material planning, and/or material management
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in production scheduling, material planning, and/or material management
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and tools
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and practices
  • Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions
  • Experience in high volume, low mix environments (i.e., < 5 SKUs @ > 150 units/day output)
  • Expertise with ERP systems, ideally Oracle
  • Certification in production and inventory management (e.g., APICS CPIM)
