We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer - Overhaul Operations to lead process and capability improvements. This individual will work across product lines and overhaul sites using Lean Flight Deck principles to drive a zero-defect culture. This critical role focuses on processes involved in receiving and inspecting incoming engines, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in the engine overhaul process. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving quality and driving enterprise standards across the organization.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic initiatives related to engine overhaul.
  • Develop and implement standard processes and equipment across our global network of shops.
  • Identify and develop technology or Lean opportunities in engine induction for Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facilities.
  • Create and drive standard work for cleaning and inspection processes across all MRO sites.
  • Drive process yield improvements.
  • Manage research activities to develop technology or process improvements.
  • Utilize advanced product management, manufacturing, and engineering techniques to solve issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of Powerplant Engineering, or Test Cell Operations, or Engine Assembly experience (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of Powerplant Engineering, or Test Cell Operations, or Engine Assembly experience).

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in Customer Technical Programs, Test Enabling Systems, Product Support Engineering, and/or Support Equipment Design.
  • Functional expertise in engine systems such as structures, controls, performance, operability, balance, dynamics, thermal, clearances, assembly, mechanical / oil systems, externals, and fuel systems.
  • Understanding of engine system design, operation, and services.
  • Demonstrated history of effective horizontal leadership and ability collaborate within a global network.
  • Understanding and ability to direct Lean improvements.
  • Understanding of shop operations and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of technology.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
