Essential Functions & Responsibilities (definition of job):

Maintenance and Safety Support:

  • Provide support to all departments and buildings on maintenance-related issues.
  • Assist maintenance personnel in the installation of equipment and other devices.
  • Ensure proper safety devices and protection are in place on all equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to prescribed schedules.
  • Monitor equipment, check operating fluid levels, and lubricate moving parts as required.
  • Assist in various audits, such as lighting, compressor operation, and restroom condition.
  • Address facilities issues including moving equipment, basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical duties.
  • Respond to plant emergencies and crisis situations as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Work with hazardous materials and pass an annual eye exam specific to the job title.

Operational Flexibility and Support:

  • Escort vendors and guests as required.
  • Pick up parts or supplies at local vendors.
  • Cross-train within the department.
  • Support manufacturing operations across departments and product lines, being flexible as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical and Technical Requirements:

  • Ability to work on ladders at heights of up to 20 feet.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Required Skills / Qualifications:

Educational and Basic Skills Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Basic mechanical, math, computer, written, and verbal communication skills

Team Participation:

  • Actively participate in a team environment

Lean and 5S Practices:

  • Use lean and 5S practices to improve products and processes

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Maximo
  • Basic welding skill
