Job Description Summary

All activities relating to enhancing services technology integrating customer data, or capturing engines/products reliability, availability, maintenance, safety and other performance parameters. Includes hourly, nonexempt and exempt employees as well as manager roles responsible solely for these activities. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

The LEAP Externals Module Team Leader will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in short term mitigation, long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. This role will program manage all technical aspects of the external's module. You will be responsible for AMM/ESM/CMM inspection limits, repairs, and shop visit cost. You will support/lead customer technical meetings, tech reviews, and PCB.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for integrating LRUs (Line Removable Unit) & Configs for execution and delivery
  • Ensuring that the module meets DR targets of reduction, and the module stays healthy
  • Being the face and main focal of the module with systems engineering, cost services and CFM partners
  • Owner of recommended spare part list for LEAP
  • Global role working with global sites in an extended team due to PSE of externals being distributed across the globe
  • Responsible for integrating design Eng., Repair, PSE for module cost revisions
  • Represents the externals module in the Field Finding Reports joint meeting
  • Back up for hardware owner in customer inquiries or technical presentations
  • Execute with limited guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
  • Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements
  • Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments
  • Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
  • Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others in the organization
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
  • Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks

  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Support of installed base including activities such as customer issue resolution, fleet issues, service bulletin implementation, Monitoring & Diagnostics, fleet configuration. Maintenance of fleet data, outage management.
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications

  • This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Fleet Management. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering related field (aeronautical, mechanical, electrical)
  • Experience in fleet support related to external hardware configurations and LRUs
  • Availability 24/7
  • Demonstrated experience resolving complex field issues including containment, RCA and fix introduction defining technical and commercial strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple field projects simultaneously across functions
  • Experience leading presentations of field issues to senior leadership and external customers
  • Experience interpreting, defining, and updating engine OEM and airframer maintenance procedures/manuals
  • Experience identifying, proposing, and executing fleet/field related cost avoidance projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation in English on any topic
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
