Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the user's needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.

Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assists with managing multiple aspects of Component Improvement Programs (CIP). Conducts, with guidance, component and product integration activities for maximum performance and operability of end product. Manages component, product and systems requirements, specifications, and flow down to engineering design teams. Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing. Manages interface between components and execution organizations. Helps to align tasks within budget and schedule.
- Assist with managing US Government Contract Deliverables (CDRLs) and corresponding compliance by accurate and on-time submission. This is across multi-disciplines contracts ranging from Development, Production, Cost Reduction and Service.
- Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and ability to be coached to perform tasks to broaden technical understanding of product and personal growth. Ability to confidently present project status to upper management and external customers. Ability to develop strong working relationships and strong customer relationships aligned with assigned roles and responsibility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering

- Ability to execute on assigned tasks with limited direction and oversight.
