Job Description Summary

As the Lead Security Specialist 1, you will be a Physical Security Specialist supporting Special Access Programs (SAPs). You will be responsible for implementation and compliance with all US Government and GE Aerospace security requirements for classified spaces within GE Aerospace. The successful candidate is expected to have an expert working knowledge of ICD-705 and TEMPEST requirements.

Job Description

In this role you will:

  • Use extensive subject matter expertise in builds of SAPF/SCIF to align with ICD-705 & TEMPEST requirements.
  • Review building construction/model design plans and ensure appropriate security enhancements are integrated into each plan.
  • Provide security subject matter expertise to all levels of the organization based on knowledge of government policies and company procedures.
  • Use working knowledge and understanding of intrusion detection systems, automated access control systems, CCTV, and administration of a UL certification program and UL 2050 compliance.
  • Use expert knowledge and experience in the development of Construction Security Plans and Fixed Facility Checklists.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 4 years of professional experience OR associate's degree with minimum of 7 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 9 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in SAP Physical Security.
  • Knowledge and skills of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Federal Order 32 CFR Part 117/2001 & IC Tech Spec ICD-705.
  • Experience with project / program management.
  • Experience with building construction / remodel design plans for compliance with applicable security practices.
  • Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.

Eligibility Requirement:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
  • Candidate must possess an active DoD Top Secret security clearance based upon a Tier 5 (T5)/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).

Desired Characteristics:

  • Physical Security SCIF Construction ICD-705 Certification.
  • GSA Safe & Bolt Door Technician Certification.
  • Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) Physical Security Certifications and other recognized industry certifications (ex. ASIS)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of intrusion detection, automated access control and CCTV systems.
  • Understanding of SCI and SAP programs.
  • Uncompromising integrity and ethics; and a demonstrated ability to deliver security excellence.
  • Experience working with a diverse team, both locally and remote.
  • Ability to adapt to business needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled at balancing the needs of the business with compliance
