Job Description Summary

The Lead Quality Management Specialist is responsible for product quality review associated with the manufacturing process. We are looking for a seasoned individual with a deep understanding of concepts, approaches and methodology used. This individual should also have a deep level of expertise in the technological field including the quality assurance of products, services and manufacturing processes.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Be responsible and serve as focal for the overall quality of the conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, and inspection of production engines
  • Recommend changes to procedures to lead process improvements
  • Coordinate with engineering on manufacturing related issues
  • Lead Investigations related to quality issues - create 4 blockers describing investigation/action status - present to plant leader at bi-weekly quality meeting
  • Identify/implement corrective actions for quality issues
  • Develop and manage metrics and action plans to drive reduction in incoming quality issues.
  • Support engine sickbays
  • Ensure Product Conformity. Lead and manage completion of Characteristic Accountability, driving process updates and changes in design as required
  • Update/create quality procedures
  • Conduct quarterly workstation audits
  • Serve as focal for internal (Customer, ie. DoD) and support external audits (DNV, FAA, etc.)
  • Support and Lead Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis events
  • Investigate/answer all product related quality concerns
  • Support Quality CCC, present quality metrics
  • Inputs and influences decisions within own discipline and area
  • Works on very complex technological issues or manufacturing processes
  • Coach and mentor newer team members

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Quality)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Production Quality or Manufacturing or GE Leadership Program Graduate in lieu of experience
