Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our Advanced Technology Operations team. In this role you will contribute to the mechanical design of advanced systems and their technology maturation vehicles, with the aim at supporting product evolution and preliminary design activities for future programs.

The successful candidate will support both the mechanical design of externals configurations hardware and the instrumentation definition and integration across engine system and modules. This role involves working on advanced technology demonstrations through a range of sub-scale and full-scale rigs activities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support components and systems design activities for tests vehicles and new technologies introduction
  • Design and develop mechanical concepts for externals configurations hardware
  • Act as point of contact for instrumentation integration activities
  • Support routing and instrumentation definition
  • Negotiate hardware rework and modification for instrumentation
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in mechanical design and instrumentation technologies
  • Contribute to technical and program reviews
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support advanced technology demonstrations and ensure successful execution of sub-scale and full-scale rig tests.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or relevant experience in design and/or analysis engineering position. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts and hand calculations
  • Basic knowledge of complex 2D and 3D shapes modelling CAD techniques
  • Basic knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management)
  • Clear thinking and diligent approach
  • System mindset and problem solver
  • Experience with technology demonstrations and rig testing.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles and practices.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes
  • English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required
