GEnx Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) organization in GE Aviation Bangalore Engineering Center (BEC) provides systems & design leadership on managing life cycle issues for GEnx engine in accordance with the SQDC framework. This organization is integral part of Services Engineering organization within GE Aviation Engineering Division.

Role Summary/Purpose: As an Advanced Lead Engineer, you will build and utilize multiple skillsets including design, product definition and field issue resolutions for a specific hardware or group of hardware in GEnx LCE Engineering Org. You will be doing activities linked to technical improvement of existing components and products, resolution of issues corresponding to the field services. In addition, you will be required to work collaboratively with a cross-functional teams including but not limited to Systems, Programs, PSE, Manufacturing Programs, Quality, Supply Chain, Repairs and Materials to address component related issues and perform root cause analysis and corrective actions as required.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities: In this role, you will report to Sub-Section Manager in GEnx LCE at GEA, BEC, JFWTC, Bangalore. As an Advanced Lead Engineer, your responsibility broadly includes:
- Lead design execution, development, and field issue resolution of owned Hardware per product life cycle
- Demonstrate technical expertise to meet design CTQs for owned hardware working with adjacent hardware owners & other supporting functions
- Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions and containment plans to meet near term and long term needs of the owned hardware(s)
- Understand key business drivers, contribute towards developing program plan and deliver impactful business outcomes. Integrate work of self/team with other teams and contributes to broader business objectives
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks complying with engineering and agency policies and procedures
- Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with a proactive example of communication internally and externally
- Provide technical guidance & mentor younger engineers in team
- Leverage digital/LEAN tools for problem solving and root cause establishment.
- Engage and provide technical solutions to cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, product center, supplier, or field issues
- Continuously track & communicate project information to drive prioritization & program execution
- Participate in design reviews, tech reviews & PCB reviews
- Collaborate and interact with customer, partner and adjacencies like Supply chain, other engineering discipline like Engine Dynamics, Thermal System, clearances.
- Leverage digital tools & analyze the data insights to drive appropriate actions
- Meet all the deliverables within targeted cost & schedule with FTY & OTD = 100%
Qualification / Requirements:
- BE in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 7 years relevant experience on Design/Hardware Ownership of aircraft engine/Gas turbine components
- Conversant with Design Criteria / requirements of structures/ rotor/airfoil
- Clear thinker and effective problem solver
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and networks
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel as required
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience with GE Aviation engineering design methodology & hardware knowledge of combustor and fuel nozzle is desired
- Knowledge of Mechanical design of combustor, structure, or rotor
- Understanding of manufacturing & inspection processes, repair methods desirable
- MRB Certified Engineer
- Adaptability to leverage Digital & Analytics tools to drive data driven decisions
