Job Description Summary
Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description
- Create and modify requirements and test case documentation.
- Internally review requirements and test cases prior to a formal peer review.
- Identify risk areas and communicate these to the Systems Lead.
- Review estimates for systems engineering tasks to ensure that all aspects of the work are covered.
- Support the software and product engineers to ensure application development meets product specification requirements.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to complete cross-functional integration.
- Provide technical mentoring for junior system engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience with engineering processes including: Requirements definition, allocation, validation, verification
- This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Desired Characteristics
- FAA / EASA / NAA certification
- Model-Based Development (MBD) or Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) experience
- Software development and integration experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
