With this spirit, we are looking for a talented Impact Dynamics Engineer, who will be joining our System Design Technologies Team.
System Design Technologies (SDT) team operates within Advanced Technologies Operations (ATO), a group that matures the next generation of technologies and propulsion systems, which will enable the future of flights dealing with advanced military and innovative engine architectures.

Impact Dynamics is the critical domain in aircraft engines devoted to build models to enable design assessment, calculation of primary/secondary damage and impact design loads, and to assist in ingestion related problem solving and non-linear dynamic analyses for tech maturation, new and fielded products.
Lead Engineer in Impact Dynamics interfaces with Design, Systems, and Engine Dynamics to work within defined parameters to provide pre-test prediction (e.g. fan blade out, containment, bird/ice ingestion), make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide and strengthen technical knowledge in the broad context of the Impact Dynamics.
  • Lead and execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers, participate as a contributor and/or presenter in technical and program reviews.
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Design, develop, and validate methods and tools in Impact Dynamics.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Knowledge of key aeronautical engines layout, architecture, and mechanical systems arrangements.
  • Experience in engineering positions with in-depth expertise on impact dynamics.
  • Proficiency in using any CAD (NX), CAE/FEA (MSC Nastran, Ansys, Altair Suite) and Explicit Dynamics (LS-DYNA) software.
  • Clear thinking, diligent approach, target oriented.
  • Passionate, curious, and enthusiastic about engineering challenges.
  • Team working and inclusiveness proven capabilities.
  • Fluency in English language, both written and oral.
  • Work VISA, according to local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

  • Previous experience in engine dynamics.
  • Strong knowledge of Matlab and Python.
  • Previous experience in system design optimization
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Previous experiences in multicultural environment, preferable previous international experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Flexibility to travel.
