Job Description Summary

The Hybrid Electric Components Program Manager will report to the Hybrid Electric Electrical Systems & Test Manager within the GE Aerospace Advanced Technologies / Future of Flight Organization. The Program Manager will be accountable for program execution via management of supplier deliverables, as well as longer term strategic alignment with internal and external suppliers of power conversion and distribution components. This role is essential towards the safe and effective execution of GE Aerospace's suite of ground and flight technology demonstrator vehicles, which serve as foundational platforms for maturing hybrid electric technologies central to the realization of the aviation industry's sustainability goals in the first half of the 21st century.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

As the Hybrid Electric Components Program Manager, you will:

  • Empower physical and psychological safety across a multidisciplinary team executing complex technology program
  • Coordinate US and global parties both within and external to GE Aerospace to develop high quality requirements, negotiate technical and programmatic conflicts, and deliver high quality reviews
  • Understand, communicate, and negotiate program deliverables and schedules for hybrid electric power systems and electrical / electronic components
  • Lead operations and drive continuous improvement of the electrical power components team by understanding technical work at the source
  • Lead strategic initiatives for development of new technologies, including internal capability development and external supplier investment
  • Actively prepare for, participate in, and document design program management reviews
  • Manage program budgets and forecasts
  • Provide clear, timely communication of technical and programmatic issues
  • Apply GE best practices and document lessons learned
  • Develop and generate reports and documents for internal leaders and external customers
  • Present results to internal (GE) and external (customer, supplier, agency, government, ...) customers
  • Collaborate effectively in a diverse, global, distributed work environment

Additionally, you will responsible to continually mature your personal and professional development through training opportunities, mentorship, and formal career path definition.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university with at least 8 years experience in engineering and/or program management roles

  • Demonstrated team leadership, collaboration, and facilitation skills
  • Familiarity with power systems, electrical hardware, and power electronics
  • Strong technical communication skills and willingness to continually improve communication and influencing skills in more-distributed work environments
  • Flexible and friendly approach to working in teams
  • Knowledge of energy storage and conversion (batteries, fuel cells, ...) systems
  • Test system and test setup design experience
  • Familiarity with GE business structure and subsidiaries
  • Keen listener and innate drive to succeed
